  • Q: What do I bring?

  • A: Just you, some warm clothing and food/drink if required.

 

  • Q: Can I keep my catch?

  • A: Yes, you are more than welcome to take your catch home with you. 

 

  • Q: Who are the trips suitable for?

  • A: All the family are welcome aboard the Diligence. 

 

  • Q: Do I have to fish or can I just spectate on a trip?

  • A: Yes, you are more than welcome to spectate but prices are per person on the boat so the price is only slightly discounted for watching. Please ring Matt on 07973 957550 for more information. 

 

  • Q: Where do the trips leave from?

  • A: They leave from Mevagissey harbour. Once you book, Matt will always clarify with you where you will meet him.

 

  • Q: What time do the trips run during the day?

  • A: They run at various times throughout the day starting from 9ish onwards. Earlier trips are available upon request. Please contact Matt for further information. 

 

  • Q: Where is the easiest place to park the car?

  • A: If you follow signs for the harbour car park, you will find this the closest to the departure point. 

 

  • Q: Do the trips still go ahead if its raining?

  • A: Yes. Only the wind coming from certain directions stops the trips operating. You just need to bring your own wet-weather gear. 

 

  • Q: Is there a best time of day to catch mackerel?

  • A: The first trip of the day may be better than others but not always. Depends where the fish are! 

 

  • Q: Can children come on the trip?

  • A: There is no age limit at all. People of all ages and abilities are welcome. 

 

  • Q: Do I need to have any experience?

  • A: None whatsoever. Rods and tackle are supplied so just come along and have great fun. 

 

  • Q: What should I bring?

  • A: A bag for your catch if you wish to take them home and some warm clothing as it is a lot cooler when you are at sea.

 

  • Q: Can you charter the boat privately?

  • A: Certainly, please see our trips available page for further information.
